NetworthIQ acquired

adamd — Thu, 05/15/2008 - 10:11

Portland Web Innovators co-founder Ryan Williams' side project, NetworthIQ, has been acquired by Corvallis-based Strands.
NetworthIQ was started in 2005 by Fourio, a company Ryan founded with three friends to build side projects into sustainable businesses.

Office Space in TenPod

lev — Fri, 05/09/2008 - 16:05

I currently work in a collective office space in the Rocket Building.  The space is called TenPod.  It's a great to space to work in, in a really great building, and a fun neighborhood.  I'm currently the only web/tech/graphic designer in the space, so have a self-interest in getting some more folks like you involved!  From the developer:

More like Coolness Management System

adamd — Thu, 04/03/2008 - 02:31

There was really no way to manage the coolness at our April meeting. About 40 people, mostly developers, packed into the ISITE conference room to see three content management systems explained and demoed back-to-back.

PDXWI April meeting

All the speakers were well prepared and did a great job representing their platforms. My thanks to them:

Welcome to the new site

adamd — Mon, 03/31/2008 - 16:36

For the first two years of its existance, the Portland Web Innovators site was only a forum. It was a good place to communicate amongst the group, but it lacked basic information about the group.

With our re-launch, we've taken a major step. And now we have a platform for some of the things we've talked about for awhile, such as a aggregator for outside member blogs.

We were unable to transfer posts or user accounts from the previous forums. Sorry about that. But we do have new forums ready to be used.

While I'm at it, a few thank yous:

  • Needmore Designs for hosting the old forum for two years. I know it was a bit of a pain from an administration standpoint.
  • Lev from Level OS, who put together the Drupal installation, helped mightily along the way, and now has agreed to host it.
  • Matt Beck of CouldBe Studios and Ray Brigleb (Needmore), for taking a few hours out of a Saturday to help explore Drupal's many options.

This thing isn't done. I'd love to know what we should tweak to make it more useful as a community resource.
